Minutes of Meeting

• Dr. E. Kamalanaban, Principal, Vel Tech High Tech, Welcomed the BoS Committee Members and introduced the Subject Experts, Industrial Expert and Meritorious Alumni in the meeting.
• The meeting was then taken forwarded by Dr. V. R. Ravi, Dean Academics, who delivered the institutional profile and invited the Department BoS Chairman, Dr. M. Malleswari HoD – Department of Information Technology to present the Information Technology syllabi for semester IV and V courses, Syllabi for the departmental Professional Elective I Courses and Syllabi for Open Elective Courses offered for other department students.
• The Information Technology BoS Chairman, presented the Information Technology curriculum R2021, Which was already approved in 1^st Board of Study meeting and Academic Council meeting.
• The Information Technology BoS Chairman, also presented the Information Technology Syllabi for IV and V semester courses, Syllabi for the Professional Elective I Courses offered in Semester V and Syllabi for the Open Elective Courses offered for other department students in detail for the Experts’ suggestion and approval.
• During the presentation, the Experts have suggested the following listed corrections for the improvement of syllabi and upon completion the experts appreciated the proposed syllabi.

Welcome to Department of Information Technology, Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2006 with an initial student intake of 60. In the year 2022 intake is increased to 120. The department is NBA accredited and it is valid up to 30^th June 2023. The department seeks to produce Employable graduates with ethical values to serve global society through research and innovation. Our vision is to becoming an excellence center to offer quality education. Our goal is to provide conducive learning environment to inculcate qualities of technical skills, professionalism and leadership with social responsibilities. Our department provides active learning environment to students through industry institute interactions like value added courses, placement training, workshop, industrial visit, in-plant training and internships.

Our department has well-resourced state-of-art laboratories, computer center and a library to inculcate practical skills to the students and well structured, spacious, ventilated class rooms with an exclusive seminar hall. We have a team of professors and Associate/Assistant professors who are well qualified and experienced, and actively pursue research activities in the areas like Computer Networks, Cloud Computing, Data Mining, Software Engineering, Operating Systems, Wireless & Adhoc Networks, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. The department is successfully conducting Faculty Development Programs, National Level Conferences, workshops/Seminars and Value Added Courses.
