DEPARTMENT PROFILE |
|
The Department of
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING was established in the year
2009 with an intake of 60 students. Our mission is
to impart technical knowledge and skills to the
students to become technically sound, practical and
self sufficient Mechanical Engineers. Apart from
making them good technocrats, we also provide
individual attention to make them good citizens of
our nation to serve the society. The department
functions with efficient faculty and well equipped
lab facilities. It has conducted many technical
symposium and workshops. The teaching and research
activities are supported by a team of Dean,
Professor, Assistant Professor and Lecturers who
were well qualified and experienced in their field
of study. Our Department has well established
state-of-art laboratories to inculcate practical
knowledge to the students and it is well structured
and built with spacious, ventilated class rooms. |

In order to improve the
academic performance of the students, Unit test of
three hours is being conducted every month. The
progress of the students is being monitored
periodically and the performance of the ward is
being intimated to their parents through post
regularly.

MID-SEMESTER
ASSIGNMENT |
|
Mid-Semester
Examinations are conducted after covering
50% of the syllabus. The question papers are
being prepared as per Anna University Norms.

MODEL EXAMINATIONS |

Model
examinations are conducted after the
completion of the syllabus & a review is
carried out subsequently. |

The Institution
at the end of a major portion of the syllabi
invites a senior Professor, or a Research
scholar from institutions. |

INDUSTRIAL VISIT |

The Industrial
visit enables the students come Face to Face
with the challenges of an industrial
environment and update themselves on various
technical activities. |

MINI PROJECT |
|
All the Second
and Third Year Students should submit a Mini
Project, which is relevant to their subject. |
|
FINAL YEAR PROJECT |
|
Final Year
Students will be undergoing a Project work
as a part of their curriculum. |
|
PLACEMENT |
|
The objective of
the placement cell is to train and provide
employment opportunities to all aspiring
final Year Students in reputed
organizations. The placement cell identifies
the industrial requirement and trains the
student in areas such as group discussions,
mock interview, aptitude test, personality
development programs. ost of our final year
students are placed in reputed companies
like TCS, INFOSYS, CTS, EDS, HCL, HP, and
L&T. |

PROJECT REVIEW |
|
Normally four
Reviews will be conducted for final year
students’ project work. External advisors
are appointed from various industries to
conduct project review. First review will be
conducted for10 Marks. Second review will be
conducted for 20 Marks. Third review will be
conducted for 30 Marks. Final Review will be
conducted for 40 Marks. |
