VelTech Organized AAVISHKAR 2010, Received Huge Responses from Students and Industry
Chennai, July 9 th &10 th 2010:
Chennai based Vel Tech Dr RR & Dr SR Technical University and Pune based The Automotive Research Association of India, jointly organized a National Level Project Competition and Exhibition on 9th & 10th July at Veltech University, Chennai for engineering students. 32 colleges exhibited around 40 projects and around 2000 students from various engineering colleges and high schools in and around Chennai have visited the exhibition. Main event of the competition i.e. the evaluation of project was carried out by an external panel of Judges drawn from leading Automotive Industries. Cash prizes worth Rs.70000 was distributed during the Valedictory function scheduled on 10 th July 2010. Prof.Dr.Vel.R.Rangarajan, Chancellor, VelTech Dr.RR & Dr.SR Technical University distributed the prizes. The Dias was shared by Mr.V.Ramachandram, Sr.Dy.Dir.,NATRIP, Chennai, Mr.G.Krishnakumar, Sr.Manager, Hindustan Motors Ltd., Dr.K.Ravichandran, Defence Scientist, CVRDE, Mr.L.C.Raghavan, Retired scientist, DRDO, Mr.Samir Rawte, DGM-Vehicl and Mahindra & Mahindra, Chennai. |
| 1 st Prize Rs.30000/- +Trophy + Certificate was bagged by Veltech MultiTech Dr.Rangarajan Dr.Sakunthala Engineering College, Chennai for the Project Visual Control of Multiterrain Combat Robot |
| 2 nd Prize Rs.20000/- + Trophy + Certificate was bagged by Velammal Engineeering College, Chennai for the project R.C. Photographic Vehicle |
| 3 rd Prize Rs.10000/- + Trophy + Certificate was bagged by Konaru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering, Andhra Pradesh for the prioject Borewell Rescue System |
| 10 Consolidation Prizes of Rs. 1,000 each including 3 visitor’s choice award was also distributed to winners |
| Dr. R Rangarajan , the founder-chancellor of Vel Tech University, Chennai said, “Aavishkar is a very good platform for young engineering students to exhibit their talents and the best way to cultivate research and innovation is to exhibit the same”. He further added, “We sincerely hope that this event will generate a huge new pool of ideas from new breed of specialized engineers, conversant with both analytical and practical skills in the present day and we will prepare database of such good new thoughts/ideas and solutions, which will be shared across Industry.” |
