DEPARTMENT PROFILE |

The department was
started in the year of 2006 with the intake of 60
students. Since it a multi disciplinary course we
have dedicated faculties from varies branches of
biotechnology. Our department is well organized with
advanced lab like bioprocess engineering, molecular
biology, bioorganic chemistry; cell biology etc.
laboratories have been designed to cater the
academics as well as research. We do initiate many
student projects to acquire knowledge in the field
of industry and to make them tailor made biotech
entrepreneur. Apart from academic assignment many of
our faculty involved in research activates.
Department has many funded projects from department
of science and technology, Tamilnadu council for
science and technology. We regularly organic staff
development program and national level symposium to
bring the industry close to the academic. With our
dedicated staffs we always maintain to achieve 100 %
result in the university exams. Many of our
faculties members have publish the research findings
both in nation and international journals. |

In order to improve the
academic performance of the students, Unit test of
three hours is being conducted every month. The
progress of the students is being monitored
periodically and the performance of the ward is
being intimated to their parents through post
regularly.

MID-SEMESTER
ASSIGNMENT |

Mid-Semester
Examinations are conducted after covering
50% of the syllabus. The question papers are
being prepared as per Anna University Norms.

completion of the syllabus & a review is
carried out subsequently. |

MINI PROJECT |

All the Second
and Third Year Students should submit a Mini
Project, which is relevant to their subject. |

FINAL YEAR PROJECT |

Final Year
Students will be undergoing a Project work
as a part of their curriculum. |

PLACEMENT |
|
The objective of
the placement cell is to train and provide
employment opportunities to all aspiring
final Year Students in reputed
organizations. The placement cell identifies
the industrial requirement and trains the
student in areas such as group discussions,
mock interview, aptitude test, personality
development programs. ost of our final year
students are placed in reputed companies
like TCS, INFOSYS, CTS, EDS, HCL, HP, and
L&T. |

PROJECT REVIEW |
|
Normally four
Reviews will be conducted for final year
students’ project work. External advisors
are appointed from various industries to
conduct project review. First review will be
conducted for10 Marks. Second review will be
conducted for 20 Marks. Third review will be
conducted for 30 Marks. Final Review will be
conducted for 40 Marks. |
