About the Institution

Vel Tech High Tech Dr. Rangarajan Dr. Sakunthala Engineering College (An Autonomous Institution) established in the year 2002 under R.S. Trust as a minority institution by Col. Prof. Vel. Shri. Dr. R. Rangarajan, Founder President & Chairman and Dr. Sakunthala Rangarajan, Foundress President & Vice Chairman. The college is granted Autonomous Status by UGC, affiliated to Anna University, approved by AICTE, accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade (3.27 CGPA) and also accredited by NBA (Biotech, Chemical).

The institution offers 8 UG Programmes and 3 PG Programmes in Engineering, Technology and Management with adequate infrastructure facilities and dedicated faculty fraternity. A well-formulated vision to offer high-quality Engineering education and an unswerving passion to accomplish, endure and catalyze steadfast excellence in technical education have emboldened our institution to become one of the best educational institutions in the country.

5.3 Quality Policy

To achieve excellence in technical education through student-centred learning, outcome-based curriculum, qualified faculty, modern infrastructure, research, innovation, industry collaboration and transparent governance. The institution shall continuously improve its academic and administrative processes, promote inclusivity, sustainability, ethical practices and social responsibility, and ensure measurable improvement in student progression, employability, accreditation and institutional performance.

Strategic Plan and Deployment

The Strategic Plan (2020–2025) was developed to strengthen the Institute's academic excellence, governance, research, innovation, infrastructure, and stakeholder engagement through a systematic approach to continuous improvement. The plan reflects the collective vision and contributions of the management, administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders. Extensive consultations and discussions were conducted to identify institutional priorities and formulate strategic objectives aligned with the Institute's vision and mission. Strategic focus areas were identified in 2020, with a provision for comprehensive review and revision every five years to ensure relevance and sustained institutional growth.

6.1 Goals of Strategic Plans (2021-2025)

  1. To work for getting accreditation from premier agencies like NAAC, NBA,NIRF and Permanent Affiliation from Anna University.

  2. To strengthen the autonomous system by introducing Honors and Minor degrees and Outcome Based Education

  3. To enrich the curriculum with skill oriented courses for placements

  4. To introduce PG programs relevant to Societal and Industrial need to be introduced.

  5. To offer Certification courses in every department to impart technical skill sets.

  6. To strengthen Alumni interaction: Alumni association, mentoring, networking, fundraising, knowledge sharing

  7. To recruit more faculty members with Ph.D.

  8. To host workshops, Seminars, FDPs,Symposia’ and International/National Conferences in the thrust areas.
