The Science and Humanities department of Veltech High-tech Dr.RR Dr.SR engineering college has dynamic, energetic and well qualified staff members. The Science and humanities comprises of Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English departments.

Chemistry is the branch of the natural sciences dealing with the composition of substances and their properties & reactions. It has different branches like organic, inorganic, physical and petrochemistry etc. Its study broadly involves study of macroscopic, microscopic, atomic, subatomic, particulate phenomena in chemical systems in terms of physical concepts, scientific study of the structure, properties, composition, reactions, and preparation of carbon based compounds, hydrocarbons, and their derivatives and chemical composition of natural and artificial materials.

The Science and humanities department has proposed seven R & D programme in current upcoming fields like nanotechnology to funding agencies like DST, CSIR, DBT etc. The department also focuses on recent environmental issues.

  INFRASTRUCTURE

The S&H department also has well equipped laboratory with all facilities,

     CHEMISTRY LABORATORY

Chemistry laboratory is equipped with UV Spectrophotometer, Flame photometer, Hot air oven etc to carry out the experiments as prescribed in the norms of Anna University Curriculum. It also holds facilities to perform various R&D activities by our faculties. The chemical used for the experiments are of analytical grade.
